These Come From Trees

Can one sticker save a couple hundred thousand trees per year?

A website called TheseComeFromTrees.com is selling stickers similar to the photo above has proven that one certainly can. The goal of each sticker is to "politely and subtly remind folks about accidental over consumption." Field tests which monitor public paper towel dispensers where stickers have been placed have shown a reduction in the amount of paper towels by approximately 15%, which can save up to a tree's worth of paper (roughly 100 pounds) every year per dispenser!

A strong impact is made with each sticker, and many businesses and campuses have joined the effort by purchasing stickers and deploying them wherever a paper towel dispenser can be found. To date, more than 50,000 stickers have been distributed since March, 2007.
