Do You Have Earth Day Plans?

With Earth Day coming up on April 22nd, 2009, there are many events going on around Orange County to keep you busy, whether it be through volunteering, donating, or doing your own thing by planting a tree or working on making your home more "green."
Here is a breakdown of a few events:
  • In celebration of Earth Month in April, Hornblower Cruises & Events will be hosting its First Annual Earth Day Lunch Cruise! This specialty cruise will feature a two hour cruise around our beautiful Newport Beach harbor, carbon offset for each guest, a delicious sustainable organic lunch meal, a reusable grocery bag tote compliments of Whole Foods Market, and a raffle with chances to win green products for your home.   • While every day is Earth Day at The Ecology Center, on April 25th they are opening their doors to the community for a special celebration. Bring your family and friends for the grand opening of demonstration gardens, plant sale and hands-on educational experiences for all ages. Fun and inspiring activities will be rotating all day, including; seed sprouting, earthen oven baked goods, plant-based tie dying, stories from the "Earth Bug Crew," acoustic music, yoga with Yoga Works/Lulu Lemon.   • Celebrate the Huntington Beach Centennial for the Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 19th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the newly modernized Rainbow Disposal Co., Inc. The celebration will include: Many booths, each celebrating a valued community service organization, food, drinks and entertainment, earth-friendly prizes, and lots of useful information on building a "Green Community."
